Chris Pratt Turns to God During Difficult Times
Actor Chris Pratt is encouraging his social media followers to turn to God in difficult or discouraging times.
Pratt, who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy opened up recently about his own struggle and how in the midst of feeling low he turned to God and found comfort, hope, and a fresh perspective.
“I woke up this morning feeling crappy, and I didn’t want to work out, I didn’t want to.”
Yep, even Chris Pratt has bad days. He recently received some backlash from social media trolls twisting his post into something he didn’t intend to say (surprise? No, not at all)
“I knew though if I put on my Christian music playlist I got out into the woods and ran that I’d feel better, and I didn’t want to but I did it anyway, and gosh was I right, it felt amazing,” said Pratt in a recent Instagram post for his 30 million followers.
“I got out into the woods and got my blood pumping, and God is like sat down there right next to me.”
Pratt Opens Up About Faith
Pratt opened up about his relationship with God and his emotions.
I say this as I guy I don’t get emotional a lot, but I actually got emotional out in the woods. I just felt like there was another in the fire next to me, and that’s actually the lyric in the song.
Pratt was referring to the popular Christian song- Another In The Fire by Hillsong UNITED
“All Glory to God,” Pratt concluded as he encouraged people to get in the word and put on some worship music.
This is not the first time Pratt has used his platform to share his faith. In 2017, he publicly thanked his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when he received the Teen Choice Award. Pratt credits his faith in God for opening doors and blessing him with success.
Pratt credits a complete stranger from Jews for Jesus who shared Christ with him. At the time Pratt was living in a van in Hawaii. Shortly after he came to faith, a door opened for him into the acting world while waiting tables. Recognizing that God had opened doors for him, he periodically shares his faith and thanks to God for the blessings that he has received including most recently his wife and daughter.
