Brittany Spears may be known for everything but faith, but the singer grew up in the Southern Baptist church and this week said she has lost her faith after a series of unfortunate events and relational conflict. In the latest drama to surround Brittany Spears, she announced this week that she is an atheist. The “Oops! I did it again” singer who came to fame in the late ’90s and early 2000s was raised in a Southern Baptist home but after her recent suffering, says she can’t believe in God any longer.

The heartbroken singer is grieving the division of her family, the breakup of her marriage, and an apparent split with her own children who refused to come to her wedding.

Spears’s court battle over conservatorship of her estimated $60 million estate was front-line news. The drama and relationships involved has caused additional distress to the singer.

“There is nothing to believe in anymore. I’m an atheist, y’all,”

The profanity-laced interview and confession come just days after she confessed her faith

According to Christian Post, Spears recently shared with a judge that instead of therapy, her faith helps her through the rough times. “Spears, who was raised in the Southern Baptist denomination, told a judge during a virtual court hearing over her conservatorship that instead of being subjected to intense therapy multiple times a week, she prefers to talk to God.”

Now however she has taken a turn for the worst as her life and relationships spiral downward.

Pray for Spears that God will get a hold of her heart again and the seeds of faith will be planted on good soil.
