In his first public address since his mother’s passing, the newly titled, King Charles III, shared his responsibilities towards the Church of England, the very place where the King’s own faith is “so deeply rooted.”

King Charles talked about how his faith informs his role in government and helps him to implement the values and duties of his role.

“In that faith and the values it inspires, I have been brought up to cherish a sense of duty to others and to hold in the greatest respect the precious traditions, freedoms, and responsibilities of our unique history and our system of parliamentary government.”

The King assured that no matter who he serves in his new role, whatever their backgrounds or beliefs he vowed to continue helping those under his responsibility.

“Whatever your background or beliefs, I shall endeavor to serve you with loyalty, respect, and love.”

The King closed his approximately 10-minute address with a prayer for his mother: “May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
